Nayia Yiakoumaki

Nayia Yiakoumaki is a curator with several years of experience in the field.

Nayia Yiakoumaki has lectured extensively in universities in the UK and abroad since 1991 on the subjects of Curating and Visual Arts.

Since 2005 she is curator at the Whitechapel Gallery in London where she developed an innovative programme of exhibitions related to the use of archives as a curatorial resource. This programme has attracted international attention from professional peers and has been running for almost a decade.

In September 2016, Nayia Yiakoumaki took on a new role co-directing the Athens Biennale, as Director of Research and International Networks whilst maintaining her commitment to the Whitechapel Gallery, London.

Nayia Yiakoumaki devises NEON Curatorial Exchange & Award, an initiative founded by NEON organization and delivered by the Whitechapel Gallery, which fosters professional relationships for emerging curators.
