Cornelia Lauf completed her doctorate in art history at Columbia University, and was on the curatorial team of the Guggenheim Museum before departing on a now thirty-year career as an independent curator and art historian. Her specialty is artists’s contracts, the artist’s book, custom commissions, and the relation of art to craft.
She has founded organizations such as Material Culture, Décor, Camera Oscura, Three Star Books, GoldenRuler, and, cornelialauf.com.
Lauf has recently completed a 2-year stint for the European Union/Creative Europe Grant, working on the interface between artisanal glass and design and art practices, www.egeglass.eu. She is married (twice!), and has two daughters.
