lives and works in Berlin and Umeå/Sweden. She is a Visual Artist/Professor in Fine Arts and Dean at the Umeå Academy of Fine Arts/Umeå University. Heger has an ongoing interest in the act of contextualization and dislocation. She is exploring the questions about conditions of an art production including discussion about multiple authorships and relevant possibilities of collaborations between the arts and other partners.

Various international solo and group exhibitions include: Musée des Beaux Arts/Nancy, Le Consortium/Dijon, Melbourne Biennale, Berlin Biennale, Centre Georges Pompidou/Paris, Artists Space/New York, Vienna Secession, Centre National de la Photographie/Paris, De Appel Foundation/Amsterdam, Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery, Hamburger Bahnhof/Berlin, Phoenix Art Museum, BASS Museum of Art/Miami, Moderna Museet/Stockholm, Manifesta 11/Zurich.

Talks and lectures at various international venues, include: Royal College of Art/London, Royal Academy of Art/Stockholm, Städelschule/Frankfurt, Somerset House/Courtauld Institute of Art, London, IED Instituto Europeo di Design Madrid, Akademie der Bildenden Kuenste/Vienna, Université Paris, Panthéon-Sorbonne/Paris, School of Visual Arts/New York.

Her art works are represented in international private and public collections.
