Günther Selichar is a media artist based in Vienna, Austria. He was born 1960 in Linz, Austria, studied History of Art and Classical Archeology at the University of Salzburg, Austria and The Art Institute of Chicago 1979-86.

Günther Selichar was invited to talk at universities and museums like Universität für Angewandte Kunst, Wien; School of Visual Arts, New York; Schule für Gestaltung, Zürich; Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste, Karlsruhe; Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia; Kunsthaus Bregenz; The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Copenhagen; Royal College, London; MIT – Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge/Boston; Cornerhouse, Manchester; Folkwang Universität der Künste, Essen; Vilnius Academy of Arts, Vilnius and the Moscow State University of Printing Arts.

2007-2013 Günther Selichar was Professor of Media Arts at the Academy of Visual Arts, Leipzig, Germany where he founded a class for Mass Media Research and Art in Public Media Space. Further information can be found by clicking here.
