He received his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Southern California (Department of American Studies &amp;\u00a0Ethnicity). In Taipei, he was a postdoctoral fellow at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Academia_Sinica\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Academia Sinica.<\/a>\u00a0His writing has been translated into Chinese, German, Khmer, and Vietnamese.
