She is currently a Director of Artist Development and head curator for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.twyla.com\/\"><span class=\"s2\">Twyla<\/span><\/a>, an art\/tech start-up based in Austin, Texas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">A graduate of Middlebury College in Vermont,\u00a0Emilie began her career at Gagosian Gallery in New York City before moving abroad in 2006 to open Goff+Rosenthal&#8217;s satellite gallery in Berlin, Germany. Emilie spent the next five years in Berlin working for various galleries and as an independent curator and writer\/translator.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Upon returning to the United States, Emilie moved to Aspen, Colorado where she worked as the Director of 212GALLERY and curated an annual pop-up exhibition of original works by Andy Warhol in collaboration with Christie&#8217;s and The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In 2014, Emilie co-curated &#8220;On Love and Other Teachers,&#8221; a show of emerging Kazakh artists as part of <a href=\"http:\/\/artbat.kz\/en\/\"><span class=\"s2\">ARTBAT Fest<\/span><\/a> in Almaty, Kazakhstan (curated by Christina Steinbrecher-Pfandt, Director of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.viennacontemporary.at\/en\/\"><span class=\"s2\">Viennacontemporary<\/span><\/a>). She was included in the Saatchi Gallery&#8217;s online platform &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.saatchiart.com\/100curators\"><span class=\"s2\">100 Curators 100 Days<\/span><\/a>&#8221; and was a first-round judge in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.saatchigallery.com\/mpp\/\"><span class=\"s2\">Saatchi&#8217;s Motion Photography Prize<\/span><\/a>, in collaboration with Google.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Emilie&#8217;s writing has appeared in <a href=\"http:\/\/intransit.blogs.nytimes.com\/author\/emilie-trice\/?_r=0\"><span class=\"s2\">The New York Times<\/span><\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theparisreview.org\/blog\/2011\/05\/12\/the-road-to-harburg\/\"><span class=\"s2\">The Paris Review<\/span><\/a>, on <a href=\"http:\/\/artnet.com\/\"><span class=\"s2\">artnet.com<\/span><\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/artforum.com\/\"><span class=\"s2\">artforum.com<\/span><\/a> and numerous magazines such as Damn Mag (Brussels), Sleek Mag (Berlin) and SOMA (San Francisco).
