In 1994, he\u00a0co-founded Ubu\u00a0Gallery in New York City and assumed full ownership in 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Ubu\u00a0has presented more than 75 exhibitions of 20th century avant-garde\u00a0art. The\u00a0focus is on the avant-garde, particularly historically important\u00a0artists and movements that have not received appropriate attention,\u00a0and \u00a0serious explorations of areas covered by few other galleries,\u00a0including acclaimed survey exhibitions of Polish, Romanian, and\u00a0Czech avant-garde art, have earned the gallery a worldwide\u00a0reputation as a leading presence on the international cultural\u00a0scene.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibitions have received numerous reviews in The New\u00a0York Times, with additional reviews in publications ranging from\u00a0Artforum and Art in America to The New Yorker and Vanity Fair, as\u00a0well as international pieces in Vogue, the Frankfurter Allgemeine\u00a0Zeitung and Die Welt.<\/p>\n<p>Ubu Gallery participates in many of the most\u00a0prestigious international art fairs in the world, including the annual\u00a0Paris art fair, FIAC, as well as Frieze Masters in London. Ubu also\u00a0participated in Art Basel in Basel, Switzerland for over eight years. Boxer&#8217;s\u00a0particular expertise and knowledge of the art market is frequently\u00a0sought by art institutions and auction houses, for whom he\u00a0consults on a regular basis. His\u00a0knowledge and his\u00a0important inventory have also\u00a0been invaluable to a number of scholars in their research on the\u00a0avant-garde, particularly on Surrealism.
