It has occupied its present space at 547 West 27th Street since 2009.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Peter seeks out artists whose work meets the following criteria: (1) The work must be directly connected to the artists\u2019 life experiences, particularly in terms of their most formative years; (2) the processes and materials utilized must be atypical, unusual, or unique, and not for the sake of mere virtuosity, but rather for the purpose of amplifying content; (3) the artists\u2019 craftsmanship must be evident in the work and part of its visual appeal \u2013 in other words, the creators\u2019 hand must be present.\u00a0 Slick work will not pass Peter\u2019s litmus test; and (4) the final result must be sincere in its intentions \u2013 sincerity takes precedence over irony and art about art, at least for him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\">Within a year of becoming a member of the New York State Bar in 1984 (after obtaining his JD degree from Fordham University School of Law), Peter embarked on a career in public relations and sports marketing that lasted for more than a decade.\u00a0 Drawn to the arts for as long as he can remember, thanks to encouraging and tolerant parents, he opened RARE in 1998.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1894\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1894\"
