His recent projects include the <a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/unnoticedartfestival.com\/\">Unnoticed Art Festival,<\/a> the <a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/theconceptbank.org\/\">ConceptBank<\/a> and the <a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/theparallelshow.com\/\">ParallelShow<\/a>. There is no clear distinction between his practice as a performance artist and his curatorial projects. He often invites other artists to participate on an equal basis.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"\">Frans van Lent\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"\">studied at MaHKU, Utrecht (MA Fine Arts). He tutors at the Willem de Kooning Academy, Rotterdam (since 2000).<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span class=\"\" style=\"font-family: Arial;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span class=\"\"><b class=\"\"><span class=\"\" style=\"font-family: Arial;\">The project:<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span class=\"\"><span class=\"\" style=\"font-family: Arial;\">Maumont is a small village in the Perigord in France. It consists of 15 houses, around 30 inhabitants and there is no church, shop, caf\u00e9 or other public\u00a0facility.\u00a0Only a few original residents are still living in the village; many died over the years, others left to live elsewhere. Today most inhabitants are newcomers and pensioners, often from other countries.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span class=\"\"><span class=\"\" style=\"font-family: Arial;\">Twenty years ago you could still smell the farms everywhere. Herds of cows and sheep were led through the village every day. The village has changed, from a place where all was related to soil, growth and the seasons, to a place where the inhabitants mainly\u00a0stroll, relax and dream.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span class=\"\"><span class=\"\" style=\"font-family: Arial;\">Momon\u00a0is the old name of the village, no longer in use since the name Maumont\u00a0was introduced.\u00a0Momon\u00a0stands for the\u00a0village as it exists in the mind. It is no longer physically linked to the location, it is linked to memories and coloured by nostalgia.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span class=\"\"><span class=\"\" style=\"font-family: Arial;\">La Biennale de Momon starts from the\u00a0village, but it will only be that starting point. Nothing will be changed but, on the\u00a0contrary, it will remain the way it is.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span class=\"\"><b class=\"\"><span class=\"\" style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><br class=\"\" \/>The artists:<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span class=\"\"><span class=\"\" style=\"font-family: Arial;\">Eight artists are working in this project: <br class=\"\" \/><a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/sarahboulton.co.uk\/jennyshouse.html\"><b class=\"\">Sarah Boulton<\/b><\/a><b class=\"\"> <\/b>(GB),<b class=\"\"> <\/b><a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/marcbuchy.com\/\"><b class=\"\">Marc Buchy<\/b><\/a><b class=\"\"> <\/b>(FR\/BE),<b class=\"\"> <\/b><a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/joid.org\/archive\/\"><b class=\"\">Joan Heemskerk<\/b><\/a><b class=\"\"> <\/b>(NL),<b class=\"\"> <\/b><a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/susanamendessilva.com\/sms.aspx?LNG=EN\"><b class=\"\">Susana Mendes Silva<\/b><\/a><b class=\"\"> <\/b>(PT),<b class=\"\"> <\/b><a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/joshuaschwebel.com\/home.html\"><b class=\"\">Josh Schwebel<\/b><\/a><b class=\"\"> <\/b>(CA\/DE),<b class=\"\"> <\/b><a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/lisaskuret.com\/\"><b class=\"\">Lisa Skuret<\/b><\/a><b class=\"\"> <\/b>(US\/GB),<b class=\"\"> <\/b><a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.eliatorrecilla.com\/\"><b class=\"\">Elia Torrecilla<\/b><\/a><b class=\"\"> <\/b>(ES)<b class=\"\"> <\/b>and<b class=\"\"> <\/b><a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/fransvanlent.nl\/\"><b class=\"\">Frans van Lent<\/b><\/a><b class=\"\"> <\/b>(NL)<b class=\"\">.<\/b> <br class=\"\" \/>They all have a certain preference for creating work without a material body,\u00a0without physical traces. Their ultimate\u00a0works might consist of texts, scores, images or sounds, everything that can live online without actually touching the physical ground.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span class=\"\"><span class=\"\" style=\"font-family: Arial;\">During one week in the first half of this year, every artist\u00a0will individually stay in a small house in the village. She\/he\u00a0will use this time to get familiair with the village, with its surroundings, its inhabitants. And they will of course\u00a0prepare and\u00a0create.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span class=\"\"><b class=\"\"><span class=\"\" style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><br class=\"\" \/><a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/labiennaledemomon.org\/\">LaBiennaleDeMomon.org<\/a>:<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span class=\"\"><span class=\"\" style=\"font-family: Arial;\">Finally La Biennale de Momon can only be experienced online.\u00a0The will be no physical traces left in the village to find.\u00a0The project will officially be presented at <a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/labiennaledemomon.org\/\">LaBiennaleDeMomon.org<\/a>\u00a0 on July 15, 2020.<br class=\"\" \/>You can of course always choose to visit the location, but do not\u00a0expect to see something different than what it always was: just a\u00a0small village in the Perigord.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span class=\"\" style=\"font-family: Arial;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span class=\"\"><b class=\"\"><span class=\"\" style=\"font-family: Arial;\">And finally:<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span class=\"\"><span class=\"\" style=\"font-family: Arial;\">In\u00a0November 2020 we will organise a public conference in the Dordrechts Museum in\u00a0Dordrecht, the Netherlands.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span class=\"\"><span class=\"\" style=\"font-family: Arial;\">In this conference all artists will talk about the meaning of this project and\u00a0about their works.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span class=\"\"><span class=\"\" style=\"font-family: Arial;\">There will also be other speakers with a professional relation to the subject:\u00a0actors, journalists, scientists.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span class=\"\" style=\"font-family: Arial;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span class=\"\"><b class=\"\"><span class=\"\" style=\"font-family: Arial;\">Financing the project:<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span class=\"\"><span class=\"\" style=\"font-family: Arial;\">We are very happy that the city of Dordrecht, the Netherlands,\u00a0funded part of this project. It ensures us of the means to realise many aspects as intended.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span class=\"\"><span class=\"\" style=\"font-family: Arial;\">One of the things\u00a0that is still missing is a fee for the artists.
