Zimmerman is the Director of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jacoblawrencegallery.com\/\">Jacob Lawrence Gallery<\/a> and a lecturer at the University of Washington&rsquo;s School of Art + Art History + Design. She edits the art journal&nbsp;<\/span><em class=\"\">MONDAY<\/em><span class=\"\">. Previously, Zimmerman was the Associate Curator of Programs at the&nbsp;<\/span><a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/t.umblr.com\/redirect?z=https%3A%2F%2Fhenryart.org%2F&amp;t=ZGFhMTJjMDA4YWExN2VmOGI5N2Y1NDg4MWQyNWJhNGNhMjUzNTdlNSxUbU4zdWpESg%3D%3D&amp;p=&amp;m=0\">Henry Art Gallery<\/a><span class=\"\">&nbsp;and the Associate Curator at the&nbsp;<\/span><a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/t.umblr.com\/redirect?z=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.empac.rpi.edu%2F&amp;t=ZWU2NmFjOTNiMDc3OTRlYjg0MjU0YjhlNGM1YWQyNTNiMDMyNDA5NyxUbU4zdWpESg%3D%3D&amp;p=&amp;m=0\">Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC)&nbsp;<\/a><span class=\"\">where she commissioned new work from artists such as Melvin Moti, Ryan &amp; Trevor Oakes, and Gordon Hall. She received the&nbsp;<\/span><a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/t.umblr.com\/redirect?z=http%3A%2F%2Fbricartsmedia.org%2Fcontemporary-art%2Fartist-opportunities%2Flori-ledis-emerging-curator-program&amp;t=ZTgxZmE4YTU1YTE0MzcxYTY3NjFlZDcyNDkwNTg2YTlkNzA5ZWViYixUbU4zdWpESg%3D%3D&amp;p=&amp;m=0\">2011-2012 Loris Ledis Curatorial Fellowship at BRIC Contemporary Art<\/a><span class=\"\">, served as a&nbsp;<\/span><a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/t.umblr.com\/redirect?z=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.residencyunlimited.org%2Fresidencies%2F2013%2F07%2Femily-bercir-zimmerman%2F&amp;t=NjkwMzI2NWQzMzc0ZWY3YWFiMjFkZjQwNTVjMmRkOWU4NDY2MzdkZCxUbU4zdWpESg%3D%3D&amp;p=&amp;m=0\">2013 curator-in-residence at Residency Unlimited<\/a><span class=\"\">, and was awarded funding by the New Foundation Seattle in 2016. Her writings have appeared in&nbsp;<\/span><em class=\"\"><a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/t.umblr.com\/redirect?z=http%3A%2F%2Fbombmagazine.org%2F&amp;t=M2I1NDFkMzViZTA2ZTNjN2FkZGNiNjA0YTAyN2MxOGZlNTIxNjFjZSxUbU4zdWpESg%3D%3D&amp;p=&amp;m=0\">BOMB<\/a><\/em><span class=\"\">,&nbsp;<\/span><em class=\"\">Big, Red &amp; Shiny<\/em><span class=\"\">&nbsp;and&nbsp;<\/span><a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/t.umblr.com\/redirect?z=http%3A%2F%2Fcontemporaryperformance.org%2Fprofile%2Fbercir&amp;t=YjE4ODUzOGQwODg5YmZlOTUyYzRiNDhlYWQ3NDZhY2EyNzQ4YTkxYixUbU4zdWpESg%3D%3D&amp;p=&amp;m=0\"><em class=\"\">Contemporary Performance<\/em><\/a><span class=\"\">. She has served on a number of review panels including the National Endowment for the Arts, New York State Council on the Arts, Artist Trust, 4Culture, and the Herb Alpert Awards.
