She has served as Writer in Residence at two dozen institutions, including five national parks, four universities, two visual arts centers, a public hospital, and a historical archive.<\/p>\n<p>She co-edited the craft anthology <em>Telling True Stories: A Nonfiction Writers&rsquo; Guide<\/em> and wrote <em>No Word for Welcome: The Mexican Village Faces the Global Economy<\/em>, winner of the Grub Street National Book Prize for Nonfiction.<\/p>\n<p>Wendy&rsquo;s writing has appeared in ten anthologies and more than fifty journals and magazines. Essays from her collection-in-progress, <em>Grief Ephemera(l)<\/em>, can be read in <a href=\"https:\/\/lithub.com\/dont-fck-with-the-pancreas-on-the-weirdest-human-organ\/\"><em>LitHub<\/em><\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yesmagazine.org\/issues\/sustainable-happiness\/grief2019s-hidden-gift\"><em>Yes!<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Other essays appear at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.guernicamag.com\/dont-step-here\/\"><em>Guernica<\/em><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/orionmagazine.org\/article\/endangered-language\/\"><em>Orion<\/em>,<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/witness.blackmountaininstitute.org\/author\/wendycall\/\"><em>Witness<\/em><\/a>. Her audio and video essays have been exhibited at national parks and art galleries in Florida and Washington, and her digital, map-based essay,&nbsp; <a href=\"http:\/\/sewardparkstories.org\/\">Squbeqsed Stories<\/a>, lives online. Wendy co-produced (with Karen Werner) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/radionational\/programs\/earshot\/you-will-not-see-me-die\/9023778\">&ldquo;You Will Not See Me Die,&rdquo;<\/a>which was broadcast on Australian National Radio in September 2017 and became the subject of <a href=\"http:\/\/nepr.net\/post\/episode-17-zapotec-poetry-language-radio#stream\/0\">a podcast interview<\/a> with Ilan Stavans in February 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Wendy teaches creative writing and environmental studies at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma.
