Her two books of poetry are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Best-Bones-Poetry-Sarah-Nordgren\/dp\/0822963175\"><i>Best Bones<\/i><\/a> (2014), winner of the Agnes Lynch Starrett Poetry Prize, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Darwins-Mother-Poetry-Sarah-Nordgren\/dp\/082296516X\"><i>Darwin&rsquo;s Mother<\/i><\/a>, which is recently released from University of Pittsburgh Press (November 2017).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>Her poems and essays appear widely in periodicals such as <i>Agni, Ploughshares, The Kenyon Review Online, Copper Nickel<\/i>, and <i>American Poetry Review, <\/i>and she creates video and performance text art in collaboration with Kathleen Kelley under the name Smart Snow.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Among her awards are two winter fellowships from the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, an Individual Excellence Award from the Ohio Arts Council, and fellowships and scholarships from the Sewanee and Bread Loaf Conferences, the Vermont Studio Center, and the Virginia Center for Creative Arts.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Originally from North Carolina, Nordgren earned her BA from Sarah Lawrence College and her MFA in poetry from University of North Carolina Greensboro.
