To Anyone Who Ever Asks: The Life, Music and Mystery of Connie Converse<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n Life is fleeting, that much we know, but in each moment, there is the opportunity to find something worth relishing. We wake every day to the unknown, and sometimes things may not go the way we planned or hoped, but as long as our eyes are open and there is breath in our bodies, we have the capacity to move forward. That is the most basic but perhaps the greatest gift of all.<\/p>\n Areum Yang<\/a> joined us to talk about her recent show,\u00a0Home of Being<\/em><\/a>, which ran from May 30 to July 3 at Derek Eller Gallery. Yang admitted that titling work and exhibitions is one of the most difficult aspects of her process. For this show, she wanted to discuss the concept of home as more than just a physical space, capturing the constant motion and one\u2019s time in space. The title is a word created by the artist, a combination of the words phygital<\/em> (a newer term in tech that combines the physical and the digital to make a seamless interactive experience) and genitalia<\/em>. This references the works, which have to do with the back and forth between the physical and digital world while featuring very organic bodily shapes.
