And that loss is inevitable, though it may take any of a multitude of shapes. And yet, to live one\u2019s life without ever experiencing love is unthinkable to most. We welcome the pain, the fear, the chaos that love brings to embrace the joy it promises.<\/p>\n Alan Belcher<\/a> joined us to talk about his show,\u00a0Italian Art<\/em><\/a>, which ran until May 18 at Hunt Gallery. His work is rooted in the work of Italian artists, particularly the nouveau realists and futurists; hence, the title connects to this strong influence. Additionally, Belcher has spent a great deal of time in Italy from the time he was a teenager and traveled there for the first time with his high school Latin class. KODA is a nonprofit based in New York supporting the work of mid-career socially engaged artists. Carel completed a residency with KODA a few years back, and that\u2019s where the relationship started. Her previous work centered on urban forests and the trees of New York.
