The life of a career artist can be an uphill battle, but there absolutely are so many ways to advance your career and enrich your practice. Whether you are looking for funding, experiential gains, or the chance to be included in an exhibition, it takes a resolve to make the search part of your regular routine and never be daunted when the answer is no \u2013 and I promise it will often be no. Keep going. There are ways to succeed. Here are a few to get you started.<\/p>\n<p>Texas A&#038;M University\u2019s School of Performance, Visualization, and Fine Arts introduces its inaugural <a href=\"https:\/\/pvfa.tamu.edu\/asir\/new-work-development-artist-residency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New Work Development Artist Residency<\/a>. Crossing disciplinary boundaries, it incubates innovative art. Founded on interdisciplinary units like Dance Science and Visualization, the residency fosters creative synergy. Artists receive a $10,000 stipend, lodging, resources, and student collaboration. Six recipients receive a $3,000 stipend, access to facilities, classes, and a gallery show. Submissions are juried by art professionals, including Berkeley Art Museum\u2019s senior curator. Rooted in Quaker values, the residency provides room and board, emphasizing community engagement and collaboration. Applicants needn\u2019t be Quaker but should align with Quaker principles.
