There are ways to get a foothold and advance, but you have to know where to look and how to frame yourself and your work. Here are a few opportunities to get you on the right track.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cerfplus.org\/get-ready\/get-ready-grants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CERF+\u2019s Get Ready program<\/a> offers grants up to $1,000 for craft artists to protect their studios, careers, and prepare for emergencies. The Risk Assessment activity stimulates ideas. Priority for grants goes to applicants from the global majority, Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), and folk\/traditional artists. The Studio provides artist residencies, forest restoration, and science-inspired art engagement. Eligible artists receive a stipend, residency, and support services. Applications open until March 13, 2024, with selection based on proposal creativity and integrity. A designated Artist-in-Residence crafts hundreds of terracotta plates or bowls for guests to select during the event. The chosen artist spends seven months on campus, shaping the community and preparing for the celebration.
