Lean Into It."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Forward momentum can be difficult to sustain, particularly when challenges fall in your path. For career artists, this struggle is not only real, it can be daily at times. You psych yourself up, gather all the necessary materials and apply for opportunities \u2013 only to be told,\u00a0<em>not this time<\/em>. It can be tempting to throw in the towel, decide that this isn\u2019t the life for you. Take a breath. And another.\u00a0<em>This<\/em> is the path. Not every opportunity will be a winner. In fact, the winners may be far scarcer than the no thank yous. But I implore you to persevere.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wsworkshop.org\/residencies\/studio-residency-grant\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Women\u2019s Studio Workshop<\/a> is accepting applications for the Studio Residency Grant. This six- to eight-week residency is designed to allow artists time to create new work in any of the available studio disciplines: intaglio, letterpress, papermaking, screenprinting, photography, or ceramics. The grant comes with a $350\/week stipend, up to $500 in materials budget, up to $250 continental U.S. travel funding, on-site housing and 24\/7 studio access. Deadline for applications is\u00a0<strong>November 15<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Emerging or early-career NYC-based artists are invited to apply to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smackmellon.org\/opportunities\/artist-studio-program-2024-25\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Smack Mellon\u2019s Artist Studio Program<\/a>. The program offers six artists free studio space in Dumbo, Brooklyn. the 2024-2025 program begins September 5, 2024 and runs through August 5, 2025. Deadline for applications is\u00a0<strong>November 20<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bernheim.org\/program-and-events\/air\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest<\/a> invites artists to apply for residency. In their own words:<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Up to 4 artists are selected for residencies at Bernheim on an annual basis, each with a stipend of $2500. One residency is always dedicated to a <strong>regional artist\u00a0<\/strong>currently living in Kentucky or in Clark and Floyd counties of Southern Indiana.
