There is no question that the art world can be difficult to navigate, but sometimes that\u2019s simply because there are\u00a0<em>so many<\/em> kinds of opportunities it\u2019s difficult to know which ones could be a fit for you. To that we say, the only way to learn is to try. Read up on various residencies, grants, open calls, and submit to any \u2013 and all \u2013 that seem right. Will you get a resounding yes every single time? Absolutely not. That\u2019s just par for the course. Don\u2019t let it throw you off. Simply dust off, reset and start again. Here are a few to get you started.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/truefalse.org\/submit\/art\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">True\/False Film Fest<\/a> invites artists to apply for residency. Those selected will meet online for weekly two-hour group sessions beginning in November 2023 with a focus on developing community and connection, broadening horizons and supporting the delivery of an installation piece for True\/False. Deadline for proposals is\u00a0<strong>September 30<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/eyebeam.org\/2024-eyebeam-fellowship-open-call\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eyebeam<\/a> invites artists to apply for their upcoming fellowship cycle, the theme of which is <em>What is Human About Technology?<\/em> In their own words, \u201cIn this digital-first fellowship cycle beginning\u00a0<strong>February 15, 2024, through August 15, 2024<\/strong>, we call on artists to bring their innate mental, spiritual, and physical aspects of what it means to be human into play with technology to affirm humanity\u2019s role as creators, not spectators, of our collective techno-future.\u201d For more information and to apply, <a href=\"https:\/\/eyebeam.org\/2024-eyebeam-fellowship-open-call\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">visit the website<\/a>.
