Previously, Surface was co-curator of&nbsp;<strong><a class=\"externalLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thealicegallery.com\/\">The Alice<\/a><\/strong>, an artist-run exhibition space and writers&rsquo; residency, and&nbsp;<strong><a class=\"externalLink\" href=\"http:\/\/www.outofsight.space\/artistlist2017\/\"><em>Out Of Sight 2017<\/em><\/a><\/strong>, a regional survey of Pacific Northwest artists. As Program Director at&nbsp;<strong><a class=\"externalLink\" href=\"http:\/\/designinpublic.org\/\">Design in Public<\/a><\/strong>, Surface organized the annual city-wide Seattle Design Festival and curated at the&nbsp;<strong><a class=\"externalLink\" href=\"http:\/\/cfadseattle.org\/\">Center for Architecture &amp; Design<\/a><\/strong>.&nbsp;Trained in graphic design, photography and entrepreneurship at&nbsp;<a class=\"externalLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.newschool.edu\/parsons\/bfa-integrated-design\/\">Parsons School of Design<\/a>, and with a M.Arch from&nbsp;<a class=\"externalLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.architecture.yale.edu\/\">Yale School of Architecture<\/a>, research coordinator and editor with&nbsp;<a class=\"externalLink\" href=\"http:\/\/c-lab.columbia.edu\/\">C-LAB<\/a>,&nbsp;<a class=\"externalLink\" href=\"http:\/\/volumeproject.org\/\"><em>Volume Architectural Journal<\/em>,<\/a>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<a class=\"externalLink\" href=\"http:\/\/www.networkarchitecturelab.org\/\">Network Architecture Lab<\/a>&nbsp;at Columbia University&nbsp;<a class=\"externalLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.arch.columbia.edu\/\">Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation<\/a>; and a teaching fellow in the&nbsp;<a class=\"externalLink\" href=\"https:\/\/guides.library.yale.edu\/WGSS120\">Women&rsquo;s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies<\/a>&nbsp;department at Yale University.
