One line on a page can be many things. It can be a beginning, it can be a finished product, it can be an accident or the unintended result of an entirely detached action. In life, every thought, gesture, phrase, intention, reception, each breath has unlimited potential. At any given moment, there are a multitude of doors before us behind which stand the infinite paths in which our fate may twist. We control this to some extent, but there are so many pieces of the puzzle that fall into place without our bidding – at times in direct contrast to our wishes.<\/p>\n
Peggie “Batia” Lowenberg<\/a> lives and works in Florida. Batia hails from the East Village in New York City but spent 18 years living in Israel after a spiritual awakening. The call to be near her aging mother brought her back to the U.S. where she settled in Boca Raton. Batia sees a fresh and exciting growing interest in the role of the arts in communities and the way in which art and artists can help local economies flourish. In her own practice, Batia does a range of things. One current project is a private commission although much of her art is in the area of public art. He taught himself cartooning in high school before arriving at art school. By the end of four years of art school, he had left cartooning behind and began to develop his own artistic practice. Following art school, he taught at the largest prep school in the country. During a sabbatical year, Nelson found his way to Yale where he took the Josef Albers color course which significantly influenced his art. Nelson says his life and influences would be totally different had he not had the experience he did with Albers.
