Joan Snyder (born April 16, 1940) is an American painter. Her work is in many public collections including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art,  The Whitney Museum of American Art, The Jewish Museum, The Guggenheim, The High Museum of Art, and The Phillips Collection. Joan Snyder received a MacArthur Fellowship in 2007, a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1983, and a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in 1974. She currently lives and works in Brooklyn and Woodstock, NY.
